WIll The Tin Angel be covered in glitter when Arc Iris comes to town? Get the Scoop from Zachary Tenorio-Miller of Arc Iris

Next Thursday, Arc Iris is featured on a co-bill with Anthony D’Amato at the Philadelphia intimate venue The Tin Angel . Having caught Arc Iris now five-or-so times in Philly, each time they conceptually get more expansive and bolder, I couldn't wait until Thursday to find out what Arc Iris had in store for the Tin Angel guests. With all of the wonderful buzz circulating around Arc Iris seemingly focusing on the bands matriarch Jocie Adams , I felt it was time to get some perspective from the other half of its creative mind Zachary Tenorio-Miller .  Zachary and I chatted about meeting Jocie, the birth of Arc Iris, and what is coming next! Zachary Miller-Tenorio or Storm Trooper? Root Down In The Shadow :  When did you first start making music with Jocie Adams? Zachary Tenorio-Miller : It all started when I first met Jocie.  We had like a million mutual friends back when I had been playing with members of Elvis Perkins in Dearland in an off-shoot band Diamond Doves .

Kwesi K is ........ Kwesi K debuts Pronouns at the Tin Angel

Kwesi K Kwesi K is ______!  Kwesi K is a songwriter.  Kwesi K is a football player turned singer.  Kwesi K is a mild-mannered Mid-westerner finding his way in the North East.  Kwesi K is an old soul with Ghanaian heritage.  Kwesi K is comfort!  He soothes with 'Whiskey Wit', he picks you up with 'By My Side' and 'Fold'.  He fits in at a big festival, he fits in at a house concert, he's whatever you need him to be.  On Tuesday, he was a Philly local premiering his new tunes, at the Tin Ange l, for his Pronouns EP release! Kwesi K is humility!  Before taking the stage, front and center with band mates, Alma Cook (vocals), Jon Colman (upright) and Greg Matthews (electric guitar), he gladly stood aside and gave fellow tour mate Alma center stage performing her original song, 'For A Poet'.  Wow!  Think Mariah Carey meets Ingrid Michaelson . Alma Cook, Kwesi K, Jon Colman (rear), Greg Matthews Kwesi K is seasoned pro!  Kwesi weaved in

Concert Review - Anaïs Mitchell and the Young Man Band - March 1st @ the Tin Angel, Philadelphia, Pa

Touring in support of her brand new album Young Man in America Anaïs Mitchell and her Young Man Band came to Philly's Tin Angel .  Young Man in America “Inspired by American manhood, British ballads and my father.” released Tuesday February 28th by Wilderland Records / Thirty Tigers, the fourth album from Vermont-based artist Anaïs Mitchell . While I was waiting on the stairs before the show, looking at all the portraits of those before her, Patty Griffin, Radney Foster, Amy Correia, Roseanne Cash, Gil Scott-Heron, and Dar Williams amongst others; I realized it was only a matter of time before her portrait hung with them.  Likewise, it's fitting that this was the chosen location for her album's Philly unveiling.  The tight narrow space of the Tin Angel was filled nearly to capacity as only a few spots remained.  One patron was even overheard exclaiming "all the singer songwriters are here", and the crowd brimmed with excited faces in anticipation
