Top 10 Holiday Songs I am looking forward to listening to!

According to most, the holiday listening season starts the day after Thanksgiving.  Black Friday starts the season off in a chaotic fashion for most, with people scrambling to re-load their collection onto their respective media players, filtering through the crap to re-find the good stuff. To help get right to the good stuff, I have put together a list of 10 songs that I am most looking forward to playing once the holiday listening season officially begins! 10.  She & Him .  I just downloaded this for $5 from Amazon.  It was too irresistible to pass up.  I can't wait to check out 'Baby It's Cold Outside'.  I loved the duet with Will Farrell on Elf , and I kind of like the duet with Leon Redbone on the Elf Soundtrack .  I'm very curious to hear Zooey Deschanel (She) with M. Ward (him) 9. Béla Fleck & The Flecktones - ’Jingle Bells' -  I love this totally nontraditional version of the song done only as Béla Fleck could do.  And I'm not just

Weekly Update - November 2nd edition

Free Music ALERT: I've been browsing the net a lot this week, searching for some cool places for music to share.  Here's the best of what I found:  Brown Bird - Fingers to the Bone by supplyanddemand This is one of the singles from the new Brown Bird album Salt for Salt, released in October a few weeks ago.  This album and the corresponding E.P.  The Sound of Ghosts are just infectious.  If you start listening to them, it will be very hard to stop. Brown Bird just started touring with the Devil Makes Three another incredibly enjoyable band.  Catch them if they come to your town.  Regrettably this match up won't be coming to Philly just yet.  For more info on Brown Bird , check out the interview with one half of the band MorganEve Swain ! While browsing SoundCloud.com for some free tracks, I came upon more of the Dum Dum Girls. They are currently on tour in support of  Only In Dreams .  Feel free to preview the album.  Pay attention to &

Song of the week - Chinese Translation by M. Ward

Contrary to the words I am typing right now, the video for Chinese Translation by M. Ward does not need an introduction for you to see how awesome it is.  Please take a few minutes to check out this video.  Really sit back and watch and listen.  I would advise you have the lyrics of "Chinese Translation' in front of you, but if not, I think it's fairly easy to catch on to. excerpt of 'Chinese Translation by M. Ward "I sailed a wild, wild sea Climbed up a tall, tall mountain I met a old, old man Beneath a weeping willow tree He said now if you got some questions Go and lay them at my feet But my time here is brief So you'll have to pick just three And I said What do you do with the pieces of a broken heart And how can a man like me remain in the light And if life is really as short as they say Then why is the night so long And then the sun went down And he sang for me this song" More lyrics: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/m/m_ward/#s
