Wish Lists, Best of list, Worst of list, It's the list time of year, really anything you can think of.   Here we will take a stab at the Root Down In The Shadow - Song of the Year. With tons of great music out there I decided to break these down into a few categories.   We'll have Pop/Rap , Funk , Expecting more in '13 , Rock/Metal/Alt Metal , Local , Fun & Old School .  But to get this started right, we'll kick off with the basic Song Of The Year.   Everyone should have heard these by now, and should love them.   Check the links.. some of these songs are FREE DOWNLOADS!!!! In no particular order... 1. "TEBOWIE" by Jimmy Fallon  When I first heard about this song, I wanted nothing to do with it, as the Tebow phenomenon was just so tiresome.  But after I bought Blow Your Pants Off for the wife, for her anniversary present, I couldn't get enough of this son.  Jimmy Fallon completely nails this song, including an incredible Bowie impression! Jeannine Hebb - Wileaway Album Review

Several weeks back, the current single for Jeannine Hebb , 'Call Him Out' was brought to my attention for a first listen.  The quirky throw back traditional song reminded me enough of Meaghan Smith 's The Cricket's Orchestra that I was going to dig deeper. As I made it through Whileaway I was continually surprised with the impressive vocal range, especially 'Tell Me No' and 'Tragedy'.  Listening

*** Part of an ongoing series of TOOLS TO ENJOY MORE MUSIC ***** I will attempt to profile great avenues of finding, listening to, and downloading new music, to help you , the music fan, get more out of your listening experience. The interface  was probably my first podcast.   Back in 2006 I spent many weekends working in my new house, and I needed some new music to get into while I was demolishing, rebuilding and painting.   I think I had been looking up bands for the upcoming Virgin Festival in Baltimore, MD ., but somehow I had stumbled onto four awesome new bands.   Pigeon John, the Raconteurs, KT Tunstall, and Lady Sovereign . During these early podcasts, the podcast was referred to as AOL Interface @ Spinner.com .  It was also mainly an interview with some performance added at the beinning or end.  Somehow they embedded chapters into the podcasts, so you could skip through and listen to the songs.  That was nice as, after the 10th time or so of listening to the interviews y
