Lucy Stone / Cover Club Session / Original Track / 'Ten Below'

The #CoverClub series was created to showcase the Philly music scene in all aspects.  Current bands covering other current bands.  New bands covering older bands.  Soon to be legends covering already legends.  Unlike one the inspirations for the series the AV Club Undercover , these sessions had to include some original music as well.  Showing off the current band has to be just as important as honoring the others. Lucy Stone covers Cruiser "Moving To Neptune" #CoverClub a special brand of Philly covers

It's Monday morning, so it must be time for #CoverClub.  This week's video with Lucy Stone brings us back to sonic haven Break Neck Studios where we unveil our 3rd artist from our Session 2.0 .  So far we've had the Levee Drivers covering Chris Kasper and Mat Burke covering the Menzingers .  Stay tuned this week for a killer Lucy Stone original and in the next two weeks we will have DEBUT VIDEOS for two Philadelphia artists! EP and Cruiser - Cruier EP .  To confuse matters more, in the fall when I was preparing for some work with up & coming artists including Lucy Stone & Cruiser I mixed them in with a few other promising artists including Folk-Americana bands Elijah ...

Ron Gallo / Lucy Stone / Jay Purdy - Boot & Saddle - January 30th 2013

New venue Boot and Saddle has been doing a solid job of attracting some hot new acts such as Those Darlins and Cibo Matto to town.  The venue is set up for long-term success with a good menu and separate areas for the bar and shows.  If they keep bringing stacked local line-ups such as last Thursday, it will quickly be a new favorite for many.  Toy Soldiers front man Ron Gallo had the headline slot for the night and brought friends Lucy Stone and Jay Purdy to fill out his bill.  Fresh off of a release of his solo work Live At Kettle Pot Tracks, Ron Gallo was backed by local boys Satellite Hearts and Levee Drivers multi-instrumentalist Kyle Perella on lap steel. Jay Purdy started off the night with a captivating solo set, allowing his playful melodies and unexpected lyrics to display a very unique brand of songwriting.  Normally front-man of The Extraordinaires , Jay seemed at ease on his own while switching back and forth between whimsical tunes o...
