Earlier this week we revealed the Sean Hoots solo cover of the BoyzIIMen hit 'It's So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday'. In just a few days, the video has already crept near the top of our most played #CoverClub videos. It was during a winter session three weeks ago at Nomad Recording Studio where Sean Hoots also recorded an original song with the working title 'Move Me.' Even in the raw state that is presented via Cover Club; 'Move Me' has the rare quality of being a song you feel well acquainted with within seconds of hearing it.

'Move Me' is amongst a collection of songs Hoots & Hellmouth are working on fine tuning in the next several weeks in preparation for an upcoming release. It's possible it could be played in the annual Valentine's Day shows at Tin Angel. For sure, you'll hear it during their residency in May at Boot & Saddle.
Sean Hoots has been busy removed from the usual Hoots & Hellmouth touring. Projects such as a Volume 2 follow-up to Raise The Dead Language Vol 1 are expected soon. Other adventures include Sean playing numerous shows, including the recent slot for the Mason Porter album release show.
With another solo Sean Hoots song, fans of Hoots & Hellmouth might be getting a little antsy. But, rest-assured the hiatus is nearly over. The much needed break for Hoots & Hellmouth was a little time for re-charging. Sean explained, "It felt we were being painted into a corner, with fans coming to shows expecting some rowdy stomping. It wasn't the only factor to the unit and we needed to explore beyond that. [Hoots & Hellmouth] wasn't created, intending to be Americana or rootsy, rather a solid rock & roll band." The energy has been great, but "there's no stomping going on when sitting at home writing it on the couch."

I think sometimes bands do get pushed into a corner. I've heard it happen with the songs of some of the artistes I like. They start out with a broad range, then fans end up liking a particular song or style and before you know it, they end up being expected to produce just songs in that particular style or perform a particular way.
